One of my favorite bars in Lisbon is the lovely ex – brothel themed joint called Pensao Amor. (aka Pensão Amor).
Even though Lisbon is big party place with plenty of underground clubs, cute bars and wild party spots, Pensao Amor is definietly my go to spot whenever I visit the city.
My Experience of Visiting Pensao Amor Lisbon for the First Time
When my friend suggested we check out this cool bar in Lisbon located on the popular pink street, I was very keen. I love exploring unique drinking holes around the world so this was right up my alley.
When I first walked in and saw the sex themed museum, I thought we entered a sex shop by mistake. Only later did I realize this was the theme of Pensao Amor.
On the second floor is the actual bar and the whole auro is grand and majestic.
This place has a pole dancing room with live performances & DJ’s, lavish red-walled interiors, flowy curtains and carpeted floors.
Think chandeliers, erotic photographs, and sultry drapes – this pretty much makes Pensao Amor a tourist hot spot and one of the top attractions of Lisbon.
Pensao Amor also has some of the best cocktails in Lisbon – hand’s down.
Our favorite signature cocktails of Pensao Amor are – Zu Contorcionista, Mexpresso Martini & Valeria do Filmes.
We always end up having a few and getting mildly tipsy. Plus the outdoors smoking area is great spot to meet new people and talk to locals/ travelers.
On the first floor, at the sex themed museum of sorts you can find all sorts of dildos, erotic art, and erotic posters. Even the washrooms have kinky posters on the forefront.
On the second floor, there are two rooms – one for pole dancing and the other for chilling/ dancing/ DJ nights. So far, I have been to the latter several times because of the cool laid back vibe.
It’s such a cool spot that I have visited several times already.

Pensao Amor is not just a bar but a fully fledged attraction. You can walk in, be amazed, gawk at the quirkiest sex themed artifacts and have a gala time. So what’s not to like about it? If you happen to be in Lisboa, you must visit Pensao Amor and add it to your Lisbon itinerary.
