Visit Horizontal Falls

The spectacular Horizontal Falls is so named because the water flows horizontally instead of vertically, making it a must-see during your trip to the Kimberley Coast. The science behind this is simple – the seawater builds faster on one side of the gaps rather than the other, which creates a waterfall up to 5 metres high. The direction of the falls changes with the tide, creating vast tidal pools. This extraordinary experience can be enjoyed from a small boat, or if you really want to splurge, get a bird’s eye view from a helicopter.

Explore Montgomery Reef

Continuing with the waterfall theme, Montgomery Reef covers about 400 square kilometres and a length of about 80 kilometres. The area experiences tidal movements up to 11 metres, and during this time visitors may be able to spot an amazing variety of migratory birds and marine life that call this area its home, including mantra rays, crocodiles, dugongs, and reef sharks, to name a few. Again, travellers can explore the reef by helicopter for the most rewarding experience.

Raft Point or Manning Peak

Viewing spots like Raft Point or Manning Peak provide travellers with some of the most breathtaking views of the Kimberley Coast. It is like being on top of the world, visitors like nothing more than taking in their surroundings coupled with some drinks or even a picnic.
