Bagging the Times food award in the “Best Kabab” category, is simply not enough for The Great Kabab factory, Pune, India. They went on to woo us over completely with their appetizing delicacies and unmatched service.
From the inviting decor to the contemporary theme, authentic Indian cuisine to live Bollywood classics, TGKF offers the ultimate Indian food experience.
My experience at The Great Kabab Factory, Pune
TGKF is a signature restaurant chain of Radisson Blu. Hence, during our stay at the hotel, we decided to divulge into the ultimate Indian fine dining experience. Needless to say, we were not disappointed.
Their spacious and elegant decor called for an array of photo sessions.
After that, we enjoyed classical Hindi songs that brought us back to the golden era of Bollywood music. Their live music was indeed apt for the environment created and the singers were spectacular. We were asked to write down our song requests and after a few classics like “Chura liya hai Tumne jo dil ko” we were seen singing along and swaying to the lovely music.
Jr. Sous Chef Mr Zameer Ahmad is a renowned master of Awadhi cuisine, which has its origins in Lucknow. Lucknow is world famous for its kebabs so we started our rich meal with Galouti kebabs. They were soft and succulent and literally melted in my mouth.
After enjoying the flavorsome kebabs, we were served with one delicacy after another and everything promised to be just as good, if not better.
One of the top highlights for me was the Irani chicken which was made to perfection. Every bite was a juicy foodgasm.
Many more appetizers followed – From masala papads to spicy prawns, I savored all the scrumptious delicacies served by their ever smiling staff.
So much so that I didn’t have any room left for the main course. Sadly we had to skip it and go straight for the desserts.
With a lovely sundae, paan kulfi, paan icecream and paan – this was a lot to offer to my sweet tooth. I was completely floored by the Paan Kulfi which was so flavoursome that I even re-ordered as soon as I reached my room. I mean, of course I was so full but this was simply too delightful to ‘not have seconds’.
Overall I really had a lovely evening at The Great Kabab Factory and their kebabs, live music and the whole authentic experience will be remembered for a long time to come.
